Technological Marvel That Colors the Beautiful Seto Inland Sea Seto Ohashi Bridge
〜Experience civil engineering technology that supports bridges on a worldwide scale〜
The Seto Ohashi Bridge is one of the world’s largest combined road and rail bridges made up of six bridges that links the approximately 9.4 kilometer strait area running from Kurashiki City in Okayama Prefecture to Sakaide City in Kagawa Prefecture.
It took about ten years, using the best of Japan's civil engineering and bridge technology, to overcome severe conditions from the start of construction which included tidal currents, typhoons, earthquakes, and complicated seabed geology.
On the Seto Ohashi Sky Tour, you can climb to the top of Kita Bisan-Seto Bridge, 175 meters above sea level, through the abutment and maintenance ways that are usually not open to the public.
Please come and experience the stunning scenery looking down from the top of the tower and the amazing scale of the world’s largest combined road-rail bridge.
