Yokozegawa Dam

〜Checking safety for dam completion〜

The Yokozegawa Dam is currently under construction on the Yokozegawa River, part of the Watarigawa River water system, and will be used to control floods, maintain the river environment, and supply tap water.

The construction of the dam body was completed in March 2019, and test filling was started on October 1, 2019.

During test flooding, the safety of the almost complete dam can be checked by actually storing water in the dam to confirm the stability of the dam body, presence of leaks, normal operation of various facilities, and presence of landslides around the reservoir.

The Yokozegawa Dam will also hold events such as Japan’s first dam wall climbing and forest exploration cycling and dam tours. Please come see the dam near completion.
