Our lifestyle is intrinsically linked with ports, but not many people know about their functions.
With that in mind, the Shiogama Port and Airport Development Office holds events for parents and children called “Join an Expedition to Explore the Port of Sendai During the Summer Holidays,” where participants can learn about the functions of a port through a range of experiences such as observing the inside of a ferry and the commercial facilities around the Port of Sendai, and landing on breakwaters that are normally inaccessible.
