A Luminous Emerald Green Lake and the Scenery of the Hida Mountains
〜Enjoy the Takase Valley from Omachi Dam〜
Omachi Dam has beautiful views of the Hida Mountains and an emerald green lake.
In recent years, the Takase Valley has been included in tours offered by travel companies and we have opened the interior of the dam for guests to enjoy.
The Dam’s interior is open from Tuesday to Friday, 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. (excluding holidays and the year-end and New Year holidays).
In addition, the Omachi Dam Museum provides an opportunity to learn about the purpose and functions of the Omachi Dam and the relationship between the three dams in the Takase Valley. Opening hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. throughout the year.
When viewing the dam’s interior, you will travel along the inspection gallery, which remains cool in summer and warm in winter, and be directed to a place where you can look up at the dam and view discharges from up close.
