A place usually Forbidden to Enter:Experience Otaki Dam Up Close and from the Inside
〜Find out what a super downpour of 600 mm/hour is like!〜
Situated in Kawakami Village, Yoshino District in Nara Prefecture, Otaki Dam holds a “dam experience tour” (limited to 100 visitors) on one day during summer vacation. During this day, visitors can see places that are usually forbidden from entry.
In the Upper Conduit Gate Room, you’ll experience the roles that the dam plays; and in the Dynamic Plaza, you can see for yourself just how big the dam really is. This tour is extremely popular—in 2017, the number of applicants was around double the availability.
