The Oishi Dam

〜The Oishi Dam Green Belt A Rare Sight Anywhere in the Country!〜

The Oishi Dam is surrounded by abundant nature, and the area around the dam has become a regional recreation space.
In the area around the dam there are hot springs, prefectural recreation areas, parks, and camping areas, and visitors are able to enjoy seasonal scenery and events throughout the year.

From mid-June to the end of September, the water level of the Oishi Dam is reduced by approximately thirty meters to prevent flooding. Normally, when the water level of a dam is reduced, bare ground is revealed, and both sides of the dam lake look brown.
In the case of the Oishi Dam, however, plants spring up and a green belt appears around the dam lake.
This is a very unusual phenomenon, and it attracts a lot of attention.
