〜Official Kansai International Airport tour guides providing information and tours of Kansai International Airport and airplanes!〜
Kansai International Airport was built about 5 km offshore of Senshu, in the southeastern part of Osaka Bay, and opened on September 4, 1994, as Japan's first full-fledged offshore airport.
In August 2007, the second runway began operation, and the airport became an international hub with multiple 4,000 m-class runways that can be operated 24 hours a day.
At present, scheduled flights to and from this airport serve 89 cities in 25 countries and regions around the world, as well as 17 cities in Japan, and the airport hosted an annual record number of 29.41 million passengers in 2018.
On the “New Kanku Behind-the-Scenes Exploration Tour,” visitors depart from the Kansai International Airport observation hall (Sky View) by bus, and enter a secured area that is normally closed to the public.
Visitors can see the inner facilities of the airport through the bus windows, such as the in-flight meal preparation facility and the large fuel tanks.
At the disembarkation point, you may even be able to see a plane up close, if the timing is right.
